"Carassauga Festival of Cultures" is Ontario's Largest and Canada's Second Largest Multicultural Festival!

Carassauga Festival of Cultures is an annual multicultural festival that is held on the fourth weekend of May in Mississauga, Ontario. The Carassauga Festival is a feast of colour, food, dance, music and costumes of people from different cultures. Mississauga and surrounding communities come together to experience and enjoy the sights, sounds and flavours of over 72 countries represented in 29 pavilions at various locations across Mississauga. This year Carassauga is celebrating its 34th anniversary.

Lebanon Pavilion shows and activities at Carassauga Festival!

Live, Love Lebanon ... Tour Lebanon in three days and enjoy the extraordinary of live entertainment, exhilarating performances, informative documentaries, displays, exhibits and cultural food. Come and explore this family fun event at Lebanon pavilion.

 *Friday May 24, from 7:30 p.m. till 11:00 p.m. (The opening ceremonies at the main arena at the Paramount Fine Foods Center)

Maysaloun Dance Group”, with 110 performers ranging from the age of 4 to 25, presents multiple shows that will run alternatively Every hour at the top of the hour on:

 *Saturday May 25, from 12:00 noon till 11:00 p.m. (Live singing and dabke practice after last show)

 *Sunday May 26, from 12:00 noon till 7:00 p.m. (Closing remarks and awards presentation at 7:40 p.m.)

* Lebanon Story Show: This show is inspired by many famous Lebanese artists, song writers, poets and composers. The Lebanon story show will take you on a journey touring all Lebanese districts from the north to the south and from the east to the west and will introduce you to its neighbouring countries. The story is a highlight of Lebanon's rich culture and history. It will roll out on the stage, scene by scene accompanied by amazing music, dabkeh, belly and figure dances in a vibrant colourful handmade costumes and accessories. Translation will accompany all the acts on big screens.

* Multi Dances Show: Variety performances of folk dances and musical sketches in cultural costumes, highlighting different themes of Lebanese heritage.

* Multiple Performances: Live music and singing will occur between these two shows at the half hour performed by professional singers, bands, and new promising talents.

Documentary: A documentary highlighting Lebanon history, culture and tourism and a bio about some Lebanese Legends will run between the shows.

Arabian Nights Theme Tent: Will include Aladdin and Princess Jasmine who will be welcoming our visitors.

Exhibits: Enjoy many colorful and informative displays of cultural posters, paintings, artizana, fashions, arts, crafts, and jewelry.

Arabic Calligraphy: Visitors will get to learn about the history of the Lebanese Alphabet and get their names written in Arabic for FREE at the "Arabic Calligraphy" booth.

Arabian Hospitality Setting: Visitors are welcomed to take their photos in cultural Lebanese costume at the "Arabian Hospitality Setting" booth for FREE. Also, enjoy a cup of Lebanese coffee and have your fortune read by a cup reader.

Kids' Fun Zone: Will include face painting, henna tattoo, kids camp information, and lots of fun all day round.

Cuisine: Lebanon is well known for its rich, healthy, and delicious cuisine, which is among the most varied and savory in the world. We invite you to taste some of our essential dishes; tabbouli, hummus, moutabal, vine leaves rolls, falafel, pastries, shawarma, shish tawouk, kafta and kibbeh. Also, enjoy our Lebanese sweets such as baklawa.

Location: We are located at Paramount Fine Foods Center (Community Rinks 2, Door C) at 5500 Rose Cherry Place (North of Matheson Blvd. East, one block east of Kennedy Rd.) in Mississauga.

FREE Shuttle Bus stops at our pavilion to transfer visitors among all pavilions' locations across Mississauga.

Carassauga Festival of Cultures brings thousands of people together from all walks of life and from all origins to experience the other cultures of the world during this unique three day festival. Last year our pavilion received over 31,800 visitors and this year we are expecting over 35,000 visitors; while over 400,704 visits to all pavilions were recorded.
